Kagan Lubic Lepper Finkelstein & Gold, LLP has specialized in cooperative and condominium law for over 30 years.  We currently serve as general counsel to over l50 cooperatives and condominiums located in the five boroughs, Long Island, and Westchester and Rockland counties. We work with our clients in all facets of their operations and represent them as successful functioning entities which have all the usual problems of a small business.

Our offices are involved with the review and preparation of all legal documents, policy, budget and financial planning, union matters, by-laws and proprietary lease modifications, election issues and preparation for annual meetings, alternative dispute resolution, Article 78 proceedings and litigation.  We recommend and draft policy guidelines for renovation and construction projects, management and employment agreements, and service contracts as well as advise on zoning issues, tax strategies and mortgage refinancing.  Our attorneys are fully familiar with construction issues, guiding clients through the bidding process, and preparing and negotiating contracts.  Many of our clients request our attendance at monthly board meetings to assist with policy-making, long-term planning (capital projects, renovations) and at meetings of shareholders/unit owners.

We are long-standing members of the New York State Bar Association’s Committee on Condominiums and Cooperatives and attend meetings and seminars regularly to keep our clients advised of important developments. We lecture for the Council of New York Cooperatives & Condominiums and the Federation of New York Cooperatives and Condominiums.  We are regularly quoted and published as experts in cooperative and condominium law.
